Facebook has without a doubt, become the
popular social network in the world. You continue keep on checking the Facebook
status updates of your family and friends. But have you ever thought what
happens when you see more updates from friends on Facebook? Let’s find it out.
The News Feed is the treasure of Facebook which shows the recent activities of
your friends and acquaintances and even yours. When people see more text status
updates on Facebook they write more status update themselves. On an average, 9
million status updates are written per day.
Because of this, it showed people more text status updates in their News
Feed.
Over time, Facebook has noticed that this
effect was not true for text status updates from Pages. As a result, the latest
updates to News Feed ranking treats text status updates from Pages as a
different category to text status updates from friends. They are learning that
posts from Pages behave differently to posts from friends and they are working
to improve their ranking algorithms so that they do a better job of
differentiating between the two types. This will help them show people more
content which they want to see.
Page admins can see a decrease in the
distribution of their text status updates, but they may see some increase in
engagement and distribution for other story types. A common question for many
Page owners is that they ask what kind of content they should post. This is a
tricky question to answer, as it depends on who your audience is and what they
want to see. Still, one thing which has been observed is that when some Pages
share links on Facebook, they do this by embedding the link in the status
update.
In general, Facebook recommends you that you
use the story type that best fits the message which you want to tell - whether
that's a status, photo, link or video.
