Sony will soon launch two
new version of its SmartWatch 2. The first out of the two will be made to
celebrate the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, showcasing a wrist strap with colors of
the home team. The second version is the Silver metal
edition, which has a silver metal strap. Yes, it is similar to the metal black
strap the SmartWatch 2 launched with, though you will find the silver strap to
look elegant.
Sony is not new to metal smart watches, but
this Silver edition gives an entirely “classic watch” look to the device that
black metal may not deliver. I doubt that on a person’s wrist, many people will
have to look twice before they realize this is more than just a standard huge
silver watch. An intelligently decisional cultured look to an otherwise geeky
watch.
This watch steers clear of
plastic, instead of introducing a fabric wrist strap in the colors of the
Brazilian flag. This of course, is in the honor of the country hosting the World
Cup later this year. It was introduced last year
in July as Sony SW2 acts as a companion device for Android smart phones. This
wearable can handle calls, act as smart phone camera remote, can show
notifications from phone and track your fitness activities. It features a
1.6 inch display with Bluetooth 3.0, NFC and is water-resistant. After a recent update, the Smartwatch 2 has improved a lot and packs a few new
features.
So guys what do you think, is this a boring
new paint job or did Sony just score a GOAL? Are you just going to wait to see
what the other Smartwatch makers bring to the table or are you waiting for
someone like Google to
launch a Smartwatch of their own? It will be popping out of the oven this March for the
UK, and it can be yours for just £132 including VAT.
