Samsung kicked
off the roll out of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Galaxy Note 3 a week
ago, but the upgrade was solely available in Russia. Samsung is slowly but
surely sending its Android 4.4.2 update out to other more regions and variants
of the Galaxy Note 3. The update is now available over-the-air and via Kies
application in India.
The update is
for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 model SM-N900, which comes with an Exynos octa-core
chipset. The South Korean company is also coming out with the same KitKat update
for the Qualcomm-based model (SM-N9005) since mid-January. 361MB in size, the
update can be downloaded by going to Settings << More << About
device << Software update << Update on the smart phone.
According to
update notifications, it contains stability improvements, bug-fixes, enhanced
features with performance improvements.
You can also expect to get KitKat specific features like Cloud-print
support, an Immersive mode, camera icon on lock-screen, and media art on
lock-screen and many more. The update brings Samsung's big-screened handset up
to Android 4.4.2, build KOT49H, with new-updated notification icons and other
minor UI tweaks, besides the standard KitKat features like immersive mode,
transparent notification bars and full screen album art.
The UI remains
the same in most cases. If you have already updated the device and experiencing
any issues, do let Edictogram know about it.
