Amsterdam, the capital of
Netherlands is one of the most interesting and entertaining destination I been
abroad. I stayed there for 5 days and 4 nights and enjoyed every bit of it. A
lesser known fact about Amsterdam is that
it is highly influenced by French culture.
I came across several buildings and places that are very beautiful and
intricate in their designs.
One thing that both
fancied and tired me the most were the museums that I visited. I got to know
that there are around 40 museums in the city. I only managed to see few of them
which are dedicated to history art and culture of Amsterdam. They were huge,
lavish and truly beautiful. The most amazing part in Amsterdam is the use of
bicycles in everyday life of people. They are actually separate bike lanes
built on several areas of the city. Cycling on those lanes was one of best
things I had experienced in a very long time. I found the city extremely bike
friendly and safe. Amsterdam is also exclusively known for its boating culture.
Several canal cruises gave me a spectacular view of the city and its culture. I
actually found some locals making her living by selling fruits from their
houseboats.

I also found the nightlife
in Amsterdam to be highly colourful and vibrant. It has many cafes and bars
which are very cozy and comfortable. Some of them even have terraces opened and
packed with people drinking wine and beer. Lediseplein and Rembrandtplein are
the two areas I enjoyed the most during my stay in Amsterdam.
