Tired of
having Android OS in Samsung and other phones? Normandy is what a new amalgamation of NOKIA
and ANDROID OS. This device is low cost and yet a smart phone too.
With the
sources info the image looks like Lumia but absent of the brand buttons. Normandy is an asha series
phone and falling into category of low cost smart phones. The goal of nokia is
to swap the asha OS and deploy Android OS. Nokia’s asha is popular but not on a
scale as to compared with Android. Microsoft getting hold of of Nokia would
deal in with new innovative products among which the above is an example.
Employees
of Nokia’s INC are working as Co. has decided
to have release on 2014. As WINDOWS OS has replaced symbian OS, now it’s time
to replace the Asha with Android. There would be no more google services to be
deployed on the device. To acquire an access into the market Microsoft has
tried to play a trump card on technology with “NORMANDY ”.
In any
case, the Normandy
is a project from a very different company than the one Nokia is now, or will
be later. Even if it is released, and it does run Android, it certainly won't
herald a change for the company at large. Nokia's more widespread devices in
all segments of the mobile market will run Windows, and only Windows, in the
immediate future.
There's
also a good chance that Microsoft will kill the Normandy project before its reported 2014
release. The Microsoft-Nokia deal was just approved by the US Department of
Justice and the European Commission a week ago, and until the merger is final,
Microsoft still holds no real power over Nokia's decision-making. The
acquisition is a done deal, but it will take several months at least for
Microsoft to take control of the company.
