Facebook- Makeover of Like and Share ButtonFacebook, the most popular social networking site has announced redesigning it’s Like and Share buttons. Like button was first launched in 2010 and till date it’s the same “thumbs up” sign but now Facebook is going to have its makeover done.

Facebook developers say that he new Like button sport a brighter shade of blue with white ‘Like’ text in a new font and a Facebook F logo with the word “like” – f like. Facebook is also working to pair up Like and Share buttons in a single embed so that if you like a particular post it will automatically be shared also.



If you are currently using the old like button you will be automatically upgraded to the new restyled like button. According to Facebook the Like and Share buttons are viewed over 22 billion times daily across more than 7.5 million websites. This data shows how popular are the Like and Share buttons of Facebook. The Like button lets people to post links to Facebook with one click, while Share allows them to add a personalized message and customize their target audience before posting.

The redesign of Like button will not affect the button dimensions and the Share setting will replace the Send setting (the Send setting will remain for the backward compatibility only).

The Facebook Share button which is redesigned will easily allow your blog to be shared. The button also provides the current count of how many times your story has been shared throughout Facebook.

Functionality:

  • NewFacebook share button which shows the no of times your post has been shared on Facebook. Integrates the ability to share your post with one click.
  • Position it Before, After, Before/After on post or page.
  • Use custom CSS on the button code.
  • Ability to choose whether to display on post or pages.
  • Ability to choose whether or not to show Count.
  • Support for Facebook Share API and Open Graph API.
