So finally, after three years of debut of successful photo-video sharing social service ‘Instagram’ has reached 150 million users & looking for making it a long-lasting sustainable business.

This is a one-time ad from the Instagram team that’s meant to give you a sense for the look and feel of the ads you will see.

You’ll know a photo or video is an advertisement when you see the “Sponsored” label where the time stamp normally would be. Tap this label to learn more about how advertising works on Instagram.
Is it really needed to indulge the advertisements too in the news feed? Or the company is merely looking for generating revenue ?

Launched in 2010 October, it swiftly gained the popularity among the masses, lastly Facebook bought ‘Instagram’ for 1 billion dollars in April2012. Since then it has never made any profit or has achieved more popularity as an ad-free, free pic sharing service.

Company announced that soon, within next year, users will be seeing ads of some well known brands in their news feed, however this sort of beta-version of ad displaying will begin in US first.

Company claims that,” the ads which you will be seeing will feel very natural. We want these ads to be enjoyable and creative in much the same way you see engaging, high-quality ads when you flip through your favourite magazine.”

Hence the advertisers of those brands are required to submit actually a high quality photo/video.
Emily White, Instagram's director of business operations, added,”We have big ideas for Instagram & part of making them happen is monetizing Instagram”

Also to avoid sudden change, ads will be added smoothly n slowly.


So, it’s crystal clear that, ads will definitely come up in upcoming days, although some users aren’t happy but as time crosses, everyone will become acquainted to this too, after all, we want Instagram for long.
