Samsung being on
ladders of success has again launched new tablet after the success of galaxy
tab 2, its time for galaxy tab 3. These time tab is having 3 versions launched
in Indian market. Initial version is 7 inch and next two are 8-inch.
Design
7 inch tab bounded by grey trims adds an elegant look to it. Tab looks like upgraded version of SIII. The material used
for its birth is same as the other smart phones of Samsung have. Not being the
thinnest tablet in market but ease on hands. A favourable tab as compared to
other 7 inch slates in the market. Front side of the tab is having three
buttons. Keeping in mind video chat Samsung has added in 1.3 mega pixel camera,
along with light and proximity sensor. Moving on the bottom side there are
speakers with micro USB port and 3.5mm jack for the music lovers.
On the left side
there are two card slots, one for the SIM and other for micro SD, be clear
MICRO SIM is being chosen by Samsung to be inserted in Tab-3. For the photo
clickers a primary camera of 5 mega pixel helps you to get best clicks.
Display
The 7 inch screen
is having TFT display having resolution of 1024*600 pixels which is best for
reading books and magazines. Along with smart display touch sensitivity is
descent as there were no issues regarding it during use. Auto brightness future
is better as compared to others.
Software/interface
Samsung Galaxy tab
3 211 has latest android version 4.1.2 jelly bean. The app drawer on right
bottom side of home screen is divided further into three sections apps, widgets
and downloaded apps. The top area notification is similar as compare to other Samsung
devices. It has basically 3 home screens further can be added. A brand new
future blocking is being introduced which will disable alarms, incoming calls
and notifications. It does not have much pre-loaded apps, it has basic for
entertainment and social media.
Performance/ battery life
1GB RAM on board
with 8GB of input storage and expandable up to 64 GB via microSD card. Dual
core processor with 1.2 GHz running inside the tablet manages all the memory in
fine manner avoiding crashes. Temple run 2 and famous games were running
smoothly. While watching movie over 3G or Wi-Fi tablet gets a little warm but
no to much worry. About 16-18 hours with normal usage including Wi-Fi enabled
for all time, calls more than 45 minutes, auto brightness, with regular apps
like facebook, whatsapp and notifications. Running all the day to day apps with
movies calls and music tab was about to last for 8 to 9 hours which is more
descent.
Verdict
Samsung has enter
into market with smashing features and yet proved in TAB-3 with responsive
touch screen and descent battery life. Priced at ₹17,500* is worth enough to
manage professional as well entertain with this TAB. Some time due to heavy
games it does has flaws but at end TAB is worth to buy @ above price quoted.
