Yes, Facebook is now altering its privacy setting, from next
month onwards Facebook won’t allow user to remain hidden from the searching.
True, on Facebook blog it has been revealed that, we all will be searchable with
some few exceptions of course (the blocked one)
The most popular social networking site has finally declared
to eliminate an old setting,
“Who can look up your timeline by name?”
Although this setting was removed a year ago for those who weren’t using it, but now it will be permanently removed for those chunk of facebook users who are still using it, soon they will see a reminder regarding removal of same.
But, Why does facebook need to remove it?
So, it is due to ‘Graph search.’
Graph search allows facebook users to search everything existing
on facebook & related to whatever they want. This privacy setting was a
sort of hindrance for this graph search. It was making graph search incomplete
as many person can’t even find their own friends on facebook even by graph
search.
Hence, the removal of old search setting.
Now how will I maintain my privacy?
- I can choose my facebook audience with whom I am going to share the new update.
- Also I can control the post I shared in past with public, that can be made controlled visible to friends only
So, the only thing is that your profile will be visible publicly but
your content’s privacy is still in your hands.
