Nokia Lumia “Icon“ is it different from other Lumias?

Saturday, February 15, 2014

Nokia's newest Windows Phone device has finally received a right foreword. The Lumia Icon is a follow-up to last year's Lumia 928, and it is also Finnish manufacturer's second high-end smartphone to launch through Verizon Wireless.

Nokia Lumia “Icon“is it different from other Lumias? At a glance:
·         Display resolution: Full HD (1920 x 1080)
·         Main camera sensor: 20 MP, PureView
·         Maximum talk time (3G): 16.4h
·         Battery capacity: 2420mAh (wireless charging)
·         Display size: 5''
·         Wireless charging: Built-in (Qi standard)
Whats New?
The Icon’s 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Icon's 2.2GHz quad-core CPU is paired with Adreno 330 graphics. The phone also features   as a four digital high-performance microphones, for more precise, better audio recording capabilities.

OS and apps:
One of the first things you'll notice when looking at the display is that there are total three columns, not just the standard two. This is a direct result of the
Windows Phone 8 Update 3 OS version; you can dramatically increase the number of icons on the home screen before having to scroll down for more.

Design and build:
A 5-inch 1080p HD AMOLED screen is the star of the show, a round rectangle with aluminum sides and a subtle curve on the screen’s glass that can make thumb flow smoothly over the surface. Its 0.4-inch-thick, 5.86-ounce body feels big and bulky. Its size is a nice. It’s really stunning, with gorgeous and vibrant colors that seem to pop off the Gorilla Glass 3 screen.

Camera:
Like Nokia's other high-end devices, the Lumia Icon also feature a PureView-branded camera with Zeiss optics. The Icon's 20-megapixel sensor can be used to capture a pair of photos at different resolutions at a same time, with either a full resolution 19- or 16-megapixel image captured along with an oversampled 5-megapixel photo.

Availability:
The Nokia Icon is the best Windows Phone for Verizon, no doubt. The Nokia Lumia Icon will be available in Verizon stores and online starting February 20th for $199.99 with a two-year contract. Pre-orders can be placed at the Microsoft Store. An offer has been made that if people purchase the Icon through Microsoft prior to March 16th will also get a Nokia wireless charging accessory, free of cost.

Bottom line:

Grab this Nokia Lumia Icon for its beautiful display and well-rounded features, but skip it if you require gobs of storage, are on a budget, or prefer a power user's OS.
