Google’s Admin app for iOS

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

After Google launched an Admin app for Android, it’s time for iOS. Google launched this app which allows administrators to manage their users and services right from their iOS phones and tablets. Google Apps formerly known as the Google Apps for your domain is a web based office suite which provides email, document creation and collaboration facility. Google Apps provides Google products hosted under an organization’s custom domain name.

This app provides the same type of functionality which is found in Google Admin app for Android.

FEATURES:

  • App helps to create and manage users.
  • It allows resetting of passwords.
  • It provides the facility of editing profiles.
  • It can even suspend users from your iPhone and iPads.
  • It allows managing user groups and reviewing user’s activities.
  • The Google Apps for Business admins can use the app to contact Google support.

As the functionality provided in Google Admin app for Android, the same has to be ensured by the admins to have API access enabled for them. However, the Google Apps admin console still offers a few more features than the mobile app. It does not look like you can manage devices from the app, for instance, and you cannot manage your Google Apps subscription even from the app.

So, this is a nice effort from Google to bring this useful app to iOS also.
