Google has announced that Android
users will now be able to voice search on their smart phones by relationship
terms in addition to name searches. The Google Voice Search which is a small
microphone icon based service now supports 13 new languages making the total
support to 42 languages and accents in 46 countries. This is in fact big news
for those users who have been waiting for this voice powered search support for
their languages.
This new feature will bring up any contact you have
designated as having a particular familial connection to you in the
"relationship" field in your contacts tool on Android.
This additional feature which is meant to allow a user to now speak a phrase like
"text sister” to initiate those actions without the user needing to say
the person's name as it's listed in their contacts.

Every so often a cell phone comes out with a
feature that makes our friend’s jaws drop when we utilize the feature in front
of them. Android comes with a bag full of features but one of the most
impressive of these is the voice search feature that is built into the Android
software stack. Although voice recognition is not something new in regards to
cell phone technology.
In fact many (non-smart) phones had the capability to
call contacts based upon specific voice commands. However, Android goes better
by allowing you to perform web searches based upon what you say into the phone’s
receiver. Looks like the smart phones have just got smarter.
In order to launch contacts on your Android phone via
voice you first need to allow the Google search app to access your contacts and
the profile information attached to each person or place.
However, the Relationship Voice Search option has to
work automatically as still it has to undergo a lot of listing rather than simply recognizing the relationship. Despite that, the
system's "name" search by voice worked perfectly, it indicates that the update, which is being worked at Google's
side, may be reaching its users sooner than others.
