Pebble Smartwatch has introduced a new application
called AutoPebble app which will customize your Smartwatch. Pebble has promised that its new app store will launch
as part of the watch's 2.0 firmware and accordingly will update the iOS application.
The new app store is in beta form now. Upon launching the new Pebble app for
iOS, iPhone users are given 3 main menu options: My Pebble, for managing what is
installed on the watch, Get Watchfaces, and Get Apps.
The Pebble Smartwatch has come up with this
innovative app which is said to be a Tasker Plug-in.
Tasker, which is an
android customization app, is capable of performing thousands of functions on
your device. AutoPebble ties your device with Tasker and relies upon it for
actions to be carried on. For getting this service you need to first upgrade to
the Pebble Firmware version 2.0 Beta for the application to work on your
device. Most people describe Tasker as a task control and task automation app.
But actually it is an Android programming app for advanced users with
experience in Android programming. But, instead of confusing you with lines of
code, Tasker provides you a friendly interface, which at the basic level, lets
you create mini Android apps.

App listings are about what users
expect; complete with screenshots of the app running on Pebble and the ability
for users to "heart" their favorite apps and help them rank higher on
the store. All Pebble applications are free, though some depend on companion
iOS applications that are paid.
AutoPebble
does the following functions:
- It assigns tasks to run when you shake the watch, this could be a twist to lock your phone screen, shake to change music tracks and a tap to play/pause a song or mute the audio
- It provides a pattern for custom notifications instead of one single notification sound. For instance, it gives 3 pulses for an incoming SMS, one long pulse for a mail and short pulses for call.
- You can combine the actions, to perform a task. Almost all of the actions and tasks can be combined to best suit your needs. Upon disconnection from your work Wi-Fi, send and SMS to your family to let them know you are on your way home.
- You can even assign tasks on the basis of location and time of the day. You can turn off your ringers after 10pm and turn on in the morning. You can customize more tasks to perform a specific action.
AutoPebble is also the name of the.pbw Pebble app which you will have to download and
