Gmail is built on the idea that email can be
more efficient, intuitive and useful. And can be fun. You can get your email
instantly via push notifications, you can read and respond to your
conversations whether online or offline, and search and find any email.
Gmail also lets you:
- Manage multiple accounts
- View and save attachments
- Set up label notifications
But what interesting feature Gmail has
included in its Gmail android app is the Auto Show Images Feature. This Gmail
android app has been updated to version 4.7.2, which brings users a feature
that is already available in the desktop version of Gmail, and is automatically
showing images in emails. It is now safe as Google is serving up the images
after hosting them on its own proxy servers. Users now will no longer need to
tap the "show pictures" message above the email content.
If for some reason you don’t want the Gmail
images to appear as default, you can disable the function in the settings menu.
However, you can have different settings for individual email accounts. This
new version will be available at Google Play Store shortly and then you can
download Gmail 4.7.2 APK. The APK file is signed by Google and it will update
your current Gmail app, which takes guarantee that the file is safe to install.
Back in December 2013, Google announced that
all its Gmail app versions, including desktop and mobile will get the security
feature – basically Google is serving images from its own proxy servers now,
which means email senders can’t use images for malicious purposes – and it’s
now time for the Android application to be updated.
This Auto Show Images feature is definitely a
significant achievement for Google. For the time being, there's not much to say
that if there are other changes included in this update, but we will surely
keep an eye out for any additional information on this one. Till then Gmail
users, cheer up for this great news.
